The latest entry in the Kracfive collective’s “MP3 rotor” is a goofy-maudlin little bit of ersatz video game soundtrackery. More than a video game score, though, this sweet-sad little ditty is like the background music to the deep-sleep dreams of Pac Man himself, who’s packed away in a box in your attic, right between discarded cartridges of Donkey Kong and Defender. The track, “Demofriikkien,” by Kracfive member Miragliuolo, is a minute and a half of syncopated nostalgia, with just enough funk to suggest Prince having recorded Sign ‘o’ the Times on his old Atari system. Check it out at kracfive.com.
