Yeah, I'm a bit obsessed with them, too. Few of these grid sequencers make any use of the touch interface in a way that's particularly special -- they all feel like they would have been noteworthy web-based Flash implementations seven or ten years ago, but I hope the variety will lead to someone doing something special in the form. I found that the layers in SoundGrid are what sold me on it. But I keep exploring alternatives.

I have now, I think, six matrix grid sequencers on my iPhone. I'm a little obsessed. I was using Soundgrid as well until I found TonePad. The response of the cells or buttons or whatever they are and the nice sine tone, to me, beats the others. It's not nearly as full featured as Soundgrid what with its layers and song modes, but for simple matrix playing, me like.

Hi there. Trope is listed as number 4, alongside Bloom (number 3) -- I combined them in one write-up because they are similar programs, and were both produced by the same creative team: Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers.
